The New Minifors 2

The Minifors 2 is a compact, easy-to-use bioreactor with a full range of application possibilities. It is a complete package that enables both beginners and experienced users to easily perform microbial applications.

The Minifors 2 comes as a complete package with everything you will need for the culture of microorganisms. The fully equipped culture vessel is located on a compact base unit with four freely configurable pumps, pH and pO2 sensors, two fully automatic gas lines with mass flow controllers and a touch screen control unit. Three different and interchangeable culture vessels are available, up to a total vessel volume of six litres.

Handling of the Minifors 2 is simple, with its small footprint and few external connections, the bench-top bioreactor takes up little space in the lab. Your work around the bioprocess will be simplified by special details; for example, the practical vessel holder that enables the safe and risk-free transport of the pump heads and the bottles together with the culture vessel to the autoclave.

Operation of the Minifors 2 is simple; either using the integrated touchscreen control or by connection to an external PC and remote operation with eve, Infors-HT’s bioprocess software. eve covers every aspect of a bioprocess, with a straightforward user navigation system that keeps the workflow on hand at all times. The workflow integrates all of the experimental requirements, from project, experiment and batch planning to resource administration and analysis of the results. Process management is comprehensive and easier than ever before. If the Minifors 2 is controlled autonomously, bioprocess data is easily exported using a USB drive in .csv format.

The Minifors 2 is for microbial culture, including Escherichia coli, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Komagataella phaffii (Pichia pastoris). E.coli is used for simple recombinant protein production, while yeasts such as S. cerevisiae and K. phaffi are better able to post-translationally modify mammalian proteins, leading to better yields. All of the following microbes that are typically used for recombinant protein production are available from ATCC and can be cultured in the Minifors 2.
